INTELLIGENT TAG FURTHER EXPANDS THE LOGISPHERE SYSTEM FOR EFFECTIVE INSIGHT IN, AND CONTROL OF LOGISTICAL PROCESSES
Eindhoven, the Netherlands, January 23 2003 - Sensite Solutions, leading provider of wireless local tracing and telemetry solutions, today officially introduces the BN115 Intelligent Tag. The BN115 is the versatile, miniature transmitter in the LogiSphere system that is intended for wireless precision temperature measurements.
Cost-effective alternative for error-prone systems
The BN115 has the compact size and rugged design that allows it to be used in dimension-critical environments and in a wide variety of climatological and mechanical conditions. Jan Vet, co-founder of Sensite Solutions, says: "The BN115 is intended for real-time and continuously monitoring of temperatures in places where wired instruments are less suited, e.g. in temperature-controlled transport of vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants, or in cold-storage and freezer units. The absence of any cabling eliminates the often-encountered problem of malfunctioning systems due to faulty or damaged cabling. Furthermore, the absence of cabling implies a major reduction in installation costs, which in many instances form a substantial part of the overall system costs."
At pre-defined intervals, the BN115 Intelligent Tag transmits a unique identification code and high-precision temperature reading that can be received by any LogiSphere Wireless Network Controller. The Wireless Network Controllers can be configured to form their own wireless communication network, thus making it possible to fully cover any area and monitor temperatures of various assets. Via wireless configuration, users can define key parameters of the BN115 like on/off, transmission intervals and usage of the motion sensor.
Automatic alarm generation enables real-time intervention
Jan Vet further explains: "With this addition, the LogiSphere system can now automatically generate an alarm as soon as temperatures come outside a customer defined range. This alarm is sent to predefined people via sms, e-mail or any other communication infrastructure. In this way, instead of just registering afterwards when a problem occurred, the LogiSphere system enables immediate correction. This feature enables e.g. transportation companies to fix problems whilst a shipment is still in transit, thus preventing damage or even loss of valuable cargo."
