PARTNERSHIP ENABLES TRANSPORT INDUSTRY REAL-TIME MANAGEMENT OF KEY PARAMETERS LIKE TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY OF IN-TRANSIT CARGO
Eindhoven, the Netherlands, February 12 2003 - Sensite Solutions, leading provider of wireless local tracing and telemetry solutions, today announces its partnership with CarrierWeb, world's first provider of GPRS-based mobile communication systems for the transportation industry. The partnership of these companies now allows the transportation industry unique real-time and continues monitoring of temperature and other parameters of cargo in-transit.
Unique cargo monitoring solution for the transport industry
"Combining our technologies enables us to offer our customers a variety of services, like registering and monitoring the status of cargo, for example its temperature and the humidity", says Arthur Viegers, Managing Director of CarrierWeb. "Our system automatically generates an alarm when measurements come outside a set range. Instead of registering afterwards when a certain problem occurred, the CarrierWeb system immediately notifies the driver and the transport company. This gives companies for the first time the opportunity to fix potential problems as they occur, thus preventing damage to, or loss of valuable cargo".

Combining with Yard and Warehouse Management
Installing the merged technologies on a company's premises further enhances the telemetry possibilities. The system then also registers activities like the arrival and departure time of trucks, monitors the cargo of parked trailers, monitors cargo in warehouses, and also checks if each truck has made the right truck-trailer combination.
