SECOND GENERATION FURTHER IMPROVES LOGISPHERE SOLUTION FOR REAL-TIME ASSETT VISIBILITY AND MONITORING
Eindhoven, the Netherlands, September 9 2003 - Sensite Solutions, leading provider of wireless local tracing and telemetry solutions, today officially introduces its second generation of the LogiSphere system. The improvements that are implemented in comparison with the first generation significantly extend the possibilities of the LogiSphere system to keep real-time and continuously track of the location and condition of valuable assets.
Long Detection Range
According to Jan Vet, co-founder of Sensite Solutions, the second generation of the LogiSphere system has various substantial enhancements. "One of the major improvements is that we have extended the detection range up to 300 metres. The detection range from the new BN2xx family of Intelligent Tags to the new HBL100 Wireless Network Controller is now adjustable from less than 1 metre to up to 300 metres.
Advanced networking capabilities
Besides usage in logistical applications, the security oriented BN123 offers a wide variety of new possibilities. Companies can for example monitor the gateways of their premise wirelessly. When the gateway is open, a signal can automatically be sent to a predefined person or department.
Moreover, HBL100's can be combined to form a wireless communication network, thus making it possible to fully cover any area whilst eliminating the need for costly and cumbersome cable runs or additional communication equipment. By adding self-organising and self-learning network configuration capabilities to this second generation, network build-ups are made extremely easy."
Extreme low power consumption
The battery lifetime of the second generation Intelligent Tag, the BN2xx-series, is also improved. Through a radical redesign, a number of patent-pending power saving technologies have been incorporated. As a result, the battery life of the Intelligent Tag now typically equals the lifetime of the asset it monitors.
Data logging and filtering
Also on the data handling aspects, the LogiSphere system has been expanded. The HBL100 offers the opportunity to log messages from Intelligent Tags in its internal memory. Furthermore, it offers advanced filtering algorithms, making it possible to optimise its transmission profile. For instance, when temperatures are being measured, it is possible to let the Network Controller only submit temperature readings above or below a predefined threshold.
Controlling external devices
"When you add to this", Jan Vet concludes, "the fact that the HBL100 can also be used to control an external electronic device like a siren, warning light, barrier, or automatic door, you get an impression on the versatility of this second generation.
