Eindhoven, the Netherlands, November 20 2003 - Sensite Solutions, leading provider of wireless local tracing and telemetry solutions, today announces the introduction of the ST208 Sensor Terminal. The ST208 Sensor Terminal turns sensors of any kind and type into wireless devices that can be made part of any LogiSphere telemetry infrastructure in a quick and easy way.
One Generic Solution
"The success of our LogiSphere system has led to a growing demand to make more and more sensor information available via our system", explains Jan Vet, co-founder of Sensite Solutions. "With the ST208 we can now offer our customers one generic solution that can interact with virtually any sensor and wirelessly transmits the relevant sensor data to our Wireless Network Controller."
Infinite Possibilities
This new addition to the LogiSphere system makes a host of sensor information available wirelessly, thus offering customers the opportunity to monitor key parameters without the need of costly and vulnerable cabling. In order to achieve this, the Sensor Terminal has purposely been designed to accept open/close information, as well as sensor readings represented by voltage, resistance, or capacitance. This information can subsequently be transmitted to any wireless LogiSphere telemetry network.
Many Sensors Already Made Wireless
"Especially in combination with its long transmission range of up to 300 metres, its impressive battery life, and its seamless integration in the LogiSphere system", Jan Vet concludes, "practical implementations of this latest addition to our product range suggested itself almost automatically to our customers. They have been using the ST208 Sensor Terminal in combination with, for instance, infrared sensors, temperature probes, smoke alarms, level indicators, door switches, light sensors, and load sensors. It also has been applied to protect phone lines from alarm installations. By the continuous and real time checking of the voltage of the phone line, cutting this phone line by potential burglars is immediately detected and the appropriate alarm can be raised."
